These tasting notes are often based on the winemaker’s notes. Well, this time he told me that this

had aromas of apricots and butter. Have you ever buttered an apricot? Just weird if you ask me. Then he goes on to mention creamy flavors of pear and truffles. Okay, now we have apricots and butter and pears and mushrooms. Is this insane or what? Well, I can tell you that this

is a lot yummier than that, and has body and character almost like a red wine. And it will even lay down for a few years. How cool is that? (as seen in the July 13, 2007 Wall Street Journal!)
This wine is a rich blend of 45% Marsanne, 30% Roussanne, 15% Rolle, and 10% Viognier.

2004 Lucchesi Vineyards & Winery Cabernet Franc Sierra Foothills
Tasting Note from Wine Reviews from WineLog.net
Color: Garnet
Nose & Palate: One bottle was distinctly turned, with a lot of prune and volatile acids on the palate and extreme green veggies. The second was starting to head over the hill, but still drinkable. 3o minutes more of air, however, and it's all veggies again. Bummer, I really wanted to taste a good Sierra Foothills Cab Franc. I like the community idea of this group winery...
