Dry Creek 2004 Heritage Zinfandel Sonoma County
Tasting Note from Corkd.com

This is a pretty dang subtle zin. Not terribly full bodied or bold, for a zin, but certainly pleasant enough to drink. Currant, ripe cherry and just a hint of cocoa, round out the flavors on the tongue. I was a bit surprised just how understated the wine was at first, but towards the end of the glass, I had warmed up to it quite a bit...

Etude Sonoma Valley Merlot 2005
Tasting Note from Wine Reviews from WineLog.net
Color: purple garnet
Nose: Tea and black fruit, especially blackberry, with oak underneath
Palate: Thinner than expected, medium-bodied and definitely elegant, but I think it's still just kind of thin. An understated wine that maybe just is too young. It would be interesting to let this set for a few years, but I'd be nervous that the fruit is just thin without the necessary tannin to allow...

Chateau Morrisette Red Table wine N/A
Tasting Note from Wine Reviews from WineLog.net
Sweet, full-bodied, somewhat jammy taste. Not cloyingly sweet, but ripe and fruity. You know this came from some of the prettiest grapes God created! It goes down very easy, the alcohol taste is very understated. Great wine if you are a "wine virgin". I highly recommend it for anyone, though...

I have to put down a disclaimer: I am an Oregon native, and I did work briefly for a catering company that did a lot of work at Willamette Valley Vineyard's banquet hall. So I will be easily characterized as a biased reviewer.
Putting that aside, this wine is superb for the price you pay. The consistency is always there from the winery, and the wine has an understated elegance to it. It has...

I've had $80 bottles of wine and 2002 version of this wine ranks right up there with them. 93 Points - "This is a classic Barossa Valley effort in terms of bigness, boldness, and a dramatic display of fruit and intensity. If you want something delicate, restrained, and understated, steer clear of this locomotive that crashes over the palate with a flamboyant display of blackberry and cassis fruit...

Caduceus Cellars Nagual de la NAGA 2005
Tasting Note from Wine Reviews from WineLog.net
From their website: This is our Cab Sav & Sangiovese blend. Aroma like a new world Tuscan meets old world Brunello. Its confident and understated with subtle raspberries, lychees, and cherry pie filling on the nose and subtle tannins on the palate. This wine is so perfectly balanced and integrated that its difficult to identify one element over the other. A bold statement, I know. But its my...
