A Wine for a Frangipane Fruit Tart; or not
Tasting Note from [Spittoon] Tasting Notes
It wasn't a perfect match - brought to accompany a Fig and Apricot Frangipane dessert I was hoping for better. The fruit and sweet pastry were just too much for this Vin Santo. It is usually served with biscotti...

Tasted Sept 2006. Good solid California Red, priced appropriately. Nice red/black fruit on the nose, light tannins, juicy fruit flavors and balanced acidity. Medium body. Slight bitter after taste, but very faint. Current release is 2004 and blend is a little different, retail is $14. Picked this bottle up at World Market.
Good party wine, or dinner with friends. Great looking label...
Triebaumer Red Table 2005
Tasting Note from Wine Reviews from WineLog.net
Intensive purple with a violet rim.
Animating nose, densely layered cooked sour cherries, sweet, very dark cherry and strawberry juice, accompanied by a nuance of chocolate. Fruit-driven, additionally blue flowers.
Dry, round spiciness, well integrated into a soft body which hinds its muscles behind fine tannins. Wide aroma spectrum of sun ripened fruits and spices, powerful finish which asks...

I have a strong partiality to this wine, enjoying it immensely on my trip up to Niagara. Baco Noir, as a hybrid grape that can withstand New York's intense seasonal climate change. It's the color that draws you in first: an unbelievably powerful ruby red, as if was hit with sunlight.
Bone dry, with enough lightness and acidity to keep it distinct away from the vinifera grapes. But the fruit...

Color Purple & ruby
Nose: Some toasty oak acts as an undercurrent to the blackberry fruit and even some cherry
Palate: Tastes a bit young, with good tannic structure, not to be anticipated for a state-wide wine. Tastes as if there is some Cab Sauv in there, but I can't find any info on the wine ... integrate over the next year or so. Great depths of fruit and acidity. Good stuff...
