I did not expect much out of this purebred Shiraz from the SE Australian company known mostly for its $5.99 color-coded hybrids. (I like to buy a bottle of good stuff and then 12 or 13 tankards of the lesser brands to keep the buzz rolling. ) While the paint-by-numbers crowd might get something out of Black Swan varietals, I would dub this one so-so, thus reinterating my initial average rating...

It's a decent wine for the price. If you're into dark, chocolately wines with traces of plum-like fruitiness and you're on a budget, I suggest giving this wine a try. Very dark and rich. I suggest trying some Hershey's Special Dark with it if you're in a decadent mood.
