Cherry and vanilla, fruity, clean smelling but the taste doesn't match the nose. The taste has woody tones. Jim smells the woodiness, but I taste it. It's ok, but not my favorite $10 wine. We had this with a muffuletta sandwich (italian meats, olives, bread, etc.) and the saltiness took some of the bite out of the wine. I liked it better with the food than without.

Candoni Chianti Chianti comes from a very careful selection of Sangiovese and Merlot grapes. It has an intense ruby purple-red color and a fresh almond and mature blackberry fragrance, with a soft, warm, dry and pulpy taste.
Felsina Chianti Classico
Alluring nose of violets and rose petals with a whiff of talcum powder. Ripe blackberry flavors balanced by a vibrant acidity and firm tannins that close on a smoky black pepper note.
Banfi Chianti Riserva
Deep black cherry ruby with black highlights and cherry rim with slight orange overtones. The bouquet is bright, and zesty, with sour cherry fruit that has some citric overtones and is supported by brambles and spice. - Kyle Phillips Italian Wine Review
