Finishes with some slight rosemary.

Palate: Some vanilla oak at the fore, that is still a long way from being integrated. Then some blueberry and some scary deep and dark blackberry. There's a round and sturdy grip, with a full body and structured nicely. Finishes with some slightly tarter raspberry, but just a hint. Then there's a long final finish of dusty blueberries. Quite good and needs some time. It will be hard to wait ~4yrs to try it again, however!

Tasted by vanpe003. Quite possibly the "biggest" grenache I've had. It reminds me quite a bit of the 2004 Deisen from Australia. A bit of bread, yeast and brambles (ala Turley) on the nose with dark fruits. Concentrated fruit and vanilla on the palate with a long finish that's just a tad tannic. An overall sweet character. A good one to sip on its own. The food pairing that comes to mind is something with sweet, spicy BBQ sauce. Aside from the relatively modest 14% alcohol, this would be a fun ringer at a zinfandel tasting. If I find another one of these in the corner of the cellar, I'd probably wait a year or so to see if the last of the tannins integrate. (92 pts.) - Tasted 5/7/2008. [FIND IT!]
