This sweet, frizzante white wine presents with a bold, rounded mouthfeel and upfront sweetness. The initial aromatic is overwhelmingly of large green table grapes, and as the wine washes across your tongue, a mouthpuckering element of grape-skin emerges, with a tannic effect unusual in a white wine. The flow of honeyed liquid is refreshingly carried forward by a wave of tiny, sharp bubbles. Swish it in your mouth, or swirl it in a glass, and unusual aromatics come to light, including musk, spearmint, diesel, and summer night flowers (think jasmine and stargazer lily), carried by the aforementioned strong aroma of green table grapes.

2.5 stars for a wine that is absolutely fascinating in the glass, but probably best suited to blending (as in the delicious blend from Lost Creek vineyard that I rated last year), unless one is in the mood for an almost dessert-sweet, grapey sparkling wine with a bouquet that will positively set your nose a-wiggle.

I like it, my wife loves it, but I don't think it's for everyone.
