Our 2007 New Gewurz surprises just about anyone who tastes it. One sip and they become instant fans. They may be the unitiated who have never heard of the varietal or the skeptic who think every Gewürztraminer is sweet.



What brings them back time and again is the wonderful crispness and bright fruit that makes New Gewurz such a versatile wine. Some love the wine because it's a great sipper, whether they are enjoying the wine as an aperitif or as a summer sipper on a sultry evening. Others call it one of their favorites because it pairs so well with a variety of dishes, from spicy Asian fare to Dungeness crab to Thanksgiving turkey.



So no wonder we call it New Gewurz (aside from its place as the first wine we release every vintage). This is a wine that will definitely give you a new way to think about Gewürztraminer.

Recollection notes.

Appearance: Deep, golden yellow colour.

Aroma: Sweet aroma typical of the Gewurztraminer wines.

Palate: Also a typical Gewurztraminer, but with a more intense flavour that I was used too. Sweet, strong and spicy.

Excellent. Smooth and sweet.

Very attractive, first attempt at doing Gewurztraminer. Warm spice, lychee, floral, very round and intoxicating nose. The mouth delivers rich, ripe lychee fruit but not sweet. Very mouth filling smooth texture. The fruit is balanced beautifully with soft acidity. The finish is dry and lingering with warm spice notes.

Nose: Some lighter and juicy white and tropical fruits



Palate: Extremely crisp and steely, with minerality and bone dry. Those fruits are also there, but more accents for the great structure.
