Riesling’s ancestral home is Germany and Bloom brings out all of the characteristics that make this grape famous amongst wine enthusiasts.

Bloom is sourced from the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, which is the fifth largest winegrowing region in Germany. Riesling, the queen of grape varieties, rules supreme in the Mosel Valley. Along the twisting course of the Mosel, the river banks rise so sharply that these vineyards’ terraces are amongst the most precipitous in the world. Over a lengthy ripening period; the combination of vine, microclimate and soil produces unique and fragrant wines.

The ripening period often lasts as late as November, allowing the Riesling vine to collect natural sugar, valuable minerals and vitamins. The winemaker’s skill is used to simply maximize nature’s potential to produce world class wines.

Good weather conditions in Spring were followed by a moderately warm summer which produced adequate rainfall. September and early October turned into a superb Indian Summer with plenty of

sunshine with higher than normal temperatures during the day and lovely cool nights. All this resulted in a high sugar concentration in the grapes with very pleasant acidity levels at the same time. Harvest for Riesling began on October 8th and was finished by October 20th.

Aromas of peach give way to a well structured palate full of fruit and

acidity. Crisp and fresh with a pleasing finish. This wine pairs well with chicken dishes and Asian cuisine. Serve well chilled.

I tried this on a lark, experimenting, as I am new to wines in general. This one was easy. I found it very uncomplicated and straightforward. It is a dry white wine, but not unwelcoming. It laid nicely on the tongue with the dryness appearing just as I swallowed. Wonderful apple flavor went great with my fish and salad. Great to sip on after dinner too. I enjoyed it.
