I started my summer cycling trip in the Rhone, so it’s only fair to drink a little now. Domaine Vieux Manoir de Maransan 2004 is a blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussane, Voignier and Clairette. That’s a lot of grapes! It’s a rich lemon colour with plenty of fresh fruity aromas. There’s apricots and limes galore on the nose. It’s dry with a refreshing level of acidity, but it’s the fruit that really...

We opted for a Shiraz Voignier - a Rhone blend that normally perks me up on a cold evening. This one came from Australia so I expected extra sunshine in the bottle. It was a thick rich purple colour, it was positively gloopy in texture. There was lots of fruit, which smelled cooked...

Walla Walla Winery V - Tertulia Cellars Bookmark this Blog/Forum Post
Tertulia winemaker, Ryan Raber, is a migrant from the East Coast. His friend, Christina Peet, runs the tasting room. The winery is a dramatic post-modern building with a false facade reminiscent of Rene Magritte. The wines are more traditional. The 2006 Columibia Valley Voignier was fresh and lively. The 2005 Columbia Valley Syrah had great color, a nose of toast, great fruit and it is made...
