Vinum Cellars Rosé It's Okay 2005 Bookmark this Blog/Forum Post
You have to appreciate the down-to-earth yet creative approach, and the results.  By bleeding off some pink juice from their Napa Cab crush, Vinum Cellars winemaker/owners Richard Bruno and Chris Condos are able to produce both this brilliant rosé plus a highly concentrated red Cab. Bruno and Condos report the ...

Lamblin Rose ‘Seduction’ 2004 Bookmark this Blog/Forum Post
Another selection from importer Old Bordeaux Wines . This time a rose made from 40% grenache, 30% carignan and 30% syrah. Just the ticket for a red hot Sydney afternoon. The cork looks like a Diam but has no branding on it. Salmon pink. Aromas of red fruit and light florals. On the palate things take a turn for the worse with dry acetone like flavours and the barest hint of fruit. I don’t know...

Stockman’s Pink Post Bookmark this Blog/Forum Post
We spent the weekend sitting outside, barbequing , splashing around in the pool and slowly turning pink. Factor 40 sunscreen did a great job in protecting me from the sun, but not the biting insects . On a hot day pink wines are perfect and we had some Nxg Stockman’s Post 2005 Shiraz Rose from ... . I had a Rhone rose this week. I was in the mood for something pink and fruity so picked a reasonably priced one. It was certainly pink, with just a hint of orange lurking within. It smelled clean but not as fresh as I’d hope from a 2005. There was a hit of strawberries with some minerality. It was dry, with a balanced acidity and a hint of tannin. It tasted of strawberry jam, the cheap no-label...

Simplicity Pink 2005 Bookmark this Blog/Forum Post
This wine is made by Davey Family Wines in the McLaren Vale. A radioactive salmon pink – I am sure it would glow in the dark. An odd nose: it is dominated by sweet strawberries and red cherries, but there is a hint of blue cheese, and an underlying earthiness ...

Levin Rosé 2004 Bookmark this Blog/Forum Post
This tasty Rosé is from the Bourré in the Loire Valley. Sorry about the battered wine label. The winery is owned by David Levin and the winemaker is Thierry Merlet. Thierry has a diverse past, having received training at Château la Tour Blanche in Bordeaux and in Burgundy, and has ...

Gertrude Stein said that, but not all roses are created equal. So many Rose wines are flat, boring and too sweet. Of course, this comment encompassed all other Rose, too ... from France - Provence, actually, home of France's best Rose. At $14, it's a real bargain...
