Picking!
picking this past Monday (September 18th ) with Hyde Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc. We got about 2/3rds ... of fermentation because it smells so good.
The picking of the SB went well, we happened to be the only one ... Place come and help that day. Shana and Tracy were on the trailers picking the leaves out of the bins ... talked about all these things to make a picking decision. I could tell from that sampling that we were...
Picking, picking, picking!
Ever since I got back from my two days of visits with Kermit Lynch
, it's been a race to get ready for harvest! Family arriving on various days, made it fun and festive. We started picking Saturday, September 1st!! Crazy early, but with the strange weather around here this year, the grapes ... is a very good thing after a long hot day of picking!

Picking Cabernet

A picking crew showed up at the winery early this morning to harvest the 1.5 tons of Cabernet Sauvignon from the half-acre vineyard planted out front. Meanwhile our Tempranillo, which has nearly completed fermentation, was drained and pressed. Later in the evening we received and pressed a truckload of Viognier from Simpson Vineyard.
