The newest of the maritime vineyards, this standalone ward is situated around the village of Elim, a Moravian mission settlement near Africa's southernmost point, Cape Agulhas. Founded in 1824, the entire picturesque village is a national monument. Generating much interest in the winelands, its still small hectarage shows great promise.
