This has lost its primary fruit character and shows complex aromas and flavors of flowers, dried quince and mineral. It's mellowing, yet fresh, with a dry profile and a long dried citrus aftertaste. Drink now through 2010. 1,300 cases made.

Alsace Grand Cru Hengst Tasting Note from Corkd.com Bookmark this Tasting Note
Very good value white wine. Very harmonic, not too dry, not too sweet, not too acidic. Ripe, but should age well. 7 years is not enough for it to show its full potential, but who has time... No doubt why Riesling is the Queen of Alsace...

This elegant white shows great definition thanks to its laserlike acidity, which is balanced by honeyed notes of apple blossom, red grapefruit and apricot, with a touch of lime. A vein of minerality leads to the spicy finish. Drink now through 2013. 280 cases imported.

Soft and lush, yet with an underpinning of acidity, this white unravels its apricot, peach and grapefruit flavors as the structure mounts on the finish. Needs a little more time to harmonize. Has fine length. Best from 2008 through 2018. 500 cases made.

Wine Tasting Note: Beblenheim Pinot Gris Reserve, 2006, Alsace, France Tasting Note from [Spittoon] Tasting Notes Bookmark this Tasting Note
Always amazing how few people consider Alsace when selecting their wines. OK, so they come in those suspiciously Germanic-looking bottles (with all those negative associations) but at least they have the grape variety on the label. Maybe Pinot Blanc...

Pierre Sparr SenSuous Red Silk Alsace Pinot Noir 2006 Tasting Note from Wine Reviews from WineLog.net Bookmark this Tasting Note
Color: Palest ruby, like a darker rose Nose: Tart and harsh, with some red fruit but bitter tannin Palate: Not good. Very thin, harsh and disjointed with maybe some VA in the acidity and finishes very short. A bad wine.
